"And the angel answered and said to her, 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.'" - Luke 1:35

Reflection:

The conception of Jesus by the Holy Spirit is a profound mystery and a cornerstone of the Christian faith. In Luke 1:35, the angel Gabriel explains to Mary that the Holy Spirit will come upon her, and the power of the Highest will overshadow her, resulting in the miraculous conception of Jesus. This divine act signifies that Jesus is not just an ordinary human being but the Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin.

This miraculous event fulfills the prophecy found in Isaiah 7:14 (NKJV), which states, "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel." The conception of Jesus by the Holy Spirit underscores His divine nature and His unique role in God's redemptive plan. It highlights the intersection of the divine and human, as Jesus is both fully God and fully man.
