This passage emphasizes the victory over death that is made possible through Jesus Christ. Death, which once held power over humanity, is defeated. The sting of death, which is sin, and the strength of sin, which is the law, are overcome by the victory that God gives us through our Lord Jesus Christ. The resurrection of the body assures us that our faith is not in vain and that our labor for the Lord is not futile.
